Trump Is Praying To His White Blond America
But there is a different and larger group of women voting…
A crowd of typical Americans pray with their Trump-god for victory.
There is only one Black person prominent in the crowd. Probably the usher.
The majority of the prayer groupies are blonds. They have forgotten their roots (pun intended), but many American women have not (more later).
Trump’s favored blonds are notably unnatural: safe – not sexy – blonds with a matronly look, like a suburban soccer mom. But pretty. Looking like she came from the same clone tube as the other blonds.
Trump is tapping into an old tradition. Only about two percent of people are naturally blond, so people in power have tried to ape that look with a variety of ploys. The ancient Roman ladies used pigeon poop mixed with alum, wood ash and quicklime. It would either blond you or blind you. During the Middle Ages, it was horse urine or lemon juice.
I’m just throwing this out there, but if a guy was going out with a ‘blond’ back then, don’t you think he would notice that she smelled like the underside of a barn? Maybe in the context of all the other smells of those times, however, it just blended (blonded?) in.
The most infamous of Trump’s “Praying Blonds” is Paula White.
Paula White is a blond televangelist in the Independent Charismatic movement, and was chair of the evangelical advisory board to Donald Trump's 2016 campaign. In the 2020 election she called on the saints in Africa and South America (?) to bring Trump victory. She lives in Trump Tower and is therefore Trump's neighbor. Not implying anything more. She is a proponent of “prosperity theology”.
Prosperity theology preaches that believers can improve their wealth through charitable donations…to the preachers.
Side-note on Prosperity Theology: Multi-millionaire Joel Osteen (L) is a prosperity theology fan. He owns a $10-million mansion paid for by his mega-church, so you could say it is working for him. His colleague Kenneth Copeland’s net worth has been estimated at $500-million.
Members of the Word of Faith Fellowship have attended over 250 of Trump’s rallies; Trump is a fan because it proves his attraction to female voters; he boasts that the blonds attend “without their husbands.”
“They’re wealthy as hell. Look at them. They’ve got nothing but cash.”
That is the depth of their twofold meaning to Donald: they are unaccompanied and they have money.
Word of Faith Fellowship used its two church branches in Brazil to siphon a steady flow of young laborers who came on tourist and student visas to its 35-acre compound in rural North Carolina. There, they were forced to work, often for no pay, and were physically or verbally assaulted. One individual said that workers were treated “as slaves,” while another claimed she was just 12 years old the first time she was put to work. Victims were reportedly told that they would be “violating God’s will” if they refused to do as they were told.
Word of Faith lawyers said that “We volunteer for the Trump campaign because we are fighting for our country and for the principles and values that have made this nation great. God has spoken to our hearts that President Trump is the person who will lead this country in the right direction.”
They are getting a tax break because they are non-political.
One study found female politicians with blonde hair tend to do better. One very notable exception is Hillary Clinton, was a blonde as long as she was a public figure. Right after the election, she went back to her natural gray-brown shade.
Trump has earned the right to call himself the protector of women by taking away their healthcare, locking up their doctors, reducing child tax credits, reducing child care assistance, and removing equal pay protections.
But his cult spends thousands on gold sneakers, bibles made in China and zero-value trading cards, while complaining about the price of groceries.
As one online wit pointed out: he tried to kill his own Vice President; how much do you think he cares about you?
Yet as of today (October 30), 45% of women who have already voted, apparently voted for Trump: 24,465,600.
WHY?
The White women who vote for Trump are less educated and less informed. They focus on their immediate friends and faith. They believe their god is on their side, and America’s problems all come from not paying enough attention to their religion. Trump causes suffering only to people they believe have “earned” it. So, you cannot convince them to have empathy. They literally don’t believe they should. Their belief is that everyone should either be just like them, or be a second-class citizen unworthy of basic decency.
Their idea is that they know more and better than anyone else what the “correct” way of life is, and that they’ll be the exception to specific things because they’re just that much more logical in their reasonings than others.
This becomes especially twisted when the issue of abortion comes up. The hypocrisy is laid bare…and ignored by the women who are vigorously against it even while quietly partaking of it.
Their thinking goes along the lines of:
“Well, I would only have an abortion if it was dire and life-saving, but they want to use it as birth control, and I think they shouldn’t be allowed!”
“Trump’s victims were sexually assaulted by Trump because they must’ve done something, or worn something to provoke it, but I’m classy and conservative, and therefore deserving of respect, so I’d never have been groped/assaulted in that way!”
One-quarter of women who have had abortions consider the procedure morally wrong. Catholic women have an abortion rate 29% higher than Protestant women. A Planned Parenthood handbook on abortion notes that nearly half of all abortions are for women who describe themselves as born-again Christian, Evangelical Christian, or Catholic.
The hypocrisy is breathtaking. The medical director of an Indianapolis clinic recalled one prospective patient who phoned to ask whether the clinic had a back door. He said no. How, she asked, could she get inside without being seen by fellow picketers outside? Pointing out that two orthopedists practiced with him, the doctor told the woman “she could limp and say she was coming to see the orthopods.”
Cognitive dissonance and tribalism triumph over rational judgement.
It is obviously not a “dumb blond” thing; blonds are just more noticeable when they do it.
Trump is praying for a White blond America, but 53% of women are voting against him.
That would be more than 30-million women thus far.
More every day. Including women that everyone looks up to: Taylor Swift, Julia Roberts, Barabara Streisand, Beyoncé, Gracie Adams, Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, Maren Morris, Jennifer Lopez, Cher…
Whereas the list of prominent Republicans features people whose hypocrisy is being recognized and punished…
· Republican anti-abortion activist Howard Scott Heldreth is a convicted child rapist in Florida.
· Republican County Commissioner David Swartz pleaded guilty to molesting two girls under the age of 11 and was sentenced to 8 years in prison.
· Republican judge Mark Pazuhanich pleaded no contest to fondling a 10-year old girl and was sentenced to 10 years probation.
· Republican anti-abortion activist Nicholas Morency pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography on his computer and offering a bounty to anybody who murders an abortion doctor.
· Republican legislator Edison Misla Aldarondo was sentenced to 10 years in prison for raping his daughter between the ages of 9 and 17.
· Republican Mayor Philip Giordano is serving a 37-year sentence in federal prison for sexually abusing 8- and 10-year old girls.
· Republican campaign consultant Tom Shortridge was sentenced to three years probation for taking nude photographs of a 15-year old girl.
· Republican racist pedophile and United States Senator Strom Thurmond had sex with a 15-year old black girl which produced a child… the list goes on.
Remember that line of utter hypocrisy during the school shootings: “Our thoughts are prayers are with you.”
Now the Republicans are finding out how tenuous that really is.
And now, they are bumping up against the ultimate reason why so many women are voting for Harris: they are motivated by a positive image of the future - a land is beckoning that they yearn to reach.
One that has been out of their grasp for so long.
In Rochester, NY, women put their “I voted” stickers on the gravestone of Susan B. Anthony.
This year, her marker has more meaning than ever before.
She was born in a different America, in 1806. At the age of 17 she was handing out anti-slavery petitions. She was a leader in the advocacy of women’s rights; her most memorable quote was “Women must not depend on the protection of man, but must be taught to protect herself.”
She was an anti-slavery abolitionist and a pioneer of the women’s suffrage movement, arranging lobbies to push for women’s votes. She was arrested and convicted for illegally voting in the 1872 presidential election. She lobbied Congress every year until her death in 1906.
Fourteen years after her death, Congress passed the 19th Amendment, ensuring that “the right to vote shall not be denied on account of sex.”
It became known as the Susan B. Anthony Amendment.
The women’s movement did not stop there, of course. There were and still are many barriers.
But this year, with the prospect of the election of the first female president, the dream of Susan B. Anthony comes closer to being realized. Her election would change forever how Americans view democracy and equality.
And more stickers have appeared on her monument than ever before.
Women remember.
To the next generation.
And that is something that men should never forget.
