With due respect to traditional media accounts bemoaning a world lost to Trump, a new poll puts him “on the ropes” with the American public, states Tatishe Nteta, professor at UMass Amherst and director of the poll.
“Trump’s approval ratings, already historically low for a newly elected president, continue to sink with close to 6-in-10 Americans (58%) expressing disapproval of the job that Trump is doing in office.”
Immigration was once a central Trump campaign theme but the percentage of people who say he is handling it well has dropped substantially from 50% four months ago to just 41% today, a 9-point drop.
Trump has taken on the power of kingship to make fast changes, and as it is turning out a large majority of Americans don’t like these changes. Most say that his key issues – negative on immigration (54%), inflation (63%), jobs (55%) and tariffs (63%) –were handled poorly.
The biggest erosion in support comes from his one-time favorite group: men.
Now, only 39% of men approve of Trump compared with 48% in April. The corresponding low for women is 35%.
Trump started his presidency circling the drain. Nearly half of Americans said they strongly disapprove of Trump and the percentage of Americans who say they strongly approve of Trump has decreased substantially. Even among Republican respondents, only half strongly approve of the president.
Despite the horrific headlines, he is a disaster.
And the even better news is that he has no way out of the toilet.
His tariff policies are going to make prices climb. Interest rates will rise. Americans will be noticeably poorer in the coming months.
It’s like the Titanic hit the iceberg…and kept circling back for more hits.
The hardest chunk of ice in the berg has a name: Epstein. Fully 70% of Americans believe he has handled this issue ‘not too well’ or ‘not well at all.’
Again, he has no way out of this hole. He’s as guilty as sin.
He is one of the world’s most litigious people. If his name was not in Epstein’s book, there would be lawsuits all over.
Nothing.
He’s guilty of raping children.
And he is being blamed for being responsible for hiding the information about the case.
The hardest thing right now is to figure out which court is going to have the pleasure of closing him down.
And then the accounting will start: all those who surrendered to him and became his tools.
