Yesterday the Governor of Texas ordered the arrest of members of the opposition party.
His warrant extended the delusional power he thinks he has; he wanted the Texas Rangers to arrest them wherever they are.
His power does not extend beyond the boundaries of Texas, so those Democrats are OK, located in safe places elsewhere.
Abbott is thinking of taking a run at Trump’s job, and he already is dreaming in colors beyond his horizon.
More than fifty Texas House Democrats skipped Texas to prevent Abbott from passing a measure to redraw congressional maps that would benefit them. The move prevented the Texas House from attaining a quorum, or the minimum number of votes needed to pass a bill.
Many Texas House Democrats said they were not fazed by what they saw as empty threats.
“First of all, there’s no crime, much less a felony in the Texas penal code,” said Texas state Rep. Jolanda Jones, who has been a lawyer for three decades. “It is a fake threat… “Sometimes in life, you got to pick a side, and I’m picking the side of right. Dr. King got arrested. John Lewis got arrested. They got arrested multiple times.”
She also scoffed at Abbott’s warning he would remove Democrats from office, noting it would require a vote in the House and the Senate. “They’re lying about what the law is. It’s just disingenuous.”
Texas state Rep. Jon Rosenthal agreed: “What makes this so dire right now is it’s really an attack on our entire system of government.”
He said he was prepared to remain out of state as long as it would take: “as long as I need…to save Texas and to save America.”
He was right about saving America.
The Texas political wildfire, flames fanned by Trump, is spreading across the nation.
Other red states are also considering redistricting as well, while blue states like California and New York have vowed they would retaliate with their own redistricting to help Democrats.
Arguing that Democrats needed to respond in kind, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries said “We will fight them politically. We will fight them governmentally. We will fight them in court. We will fight them in terms of winning the hearts and minds of the people of Texas and beyond”.
Here is the map of America under dispute:
Texas, where the GOP intends to re-district to pick up five new seats – valuable to an endangered Trump.
Missouri, where the GOPI already holds six of eight seats.
Florida, to add one more seat to their 28-20 majority.
Indiana, to pick up one more seat to add to their 7:9 advantage.
In fighting this, the Democrats are vowing to do the same re-districting.
Governor Gavin Newsom is eyeing a November special election to decide on whether to re-draw the map to the Democrat 43 to 9 advantage.
New York Democratic Governor Kathy Hochul said ‘the gloves are off’ and vowed to re-draw the map to expand their 19-to-7 lead over the GOP.
Louisiana, Wisconsin, Utah, Kentucky and Colorado are also in turmoil about re-districting.
Of course, if the popular vote leans heavily away from Trump, no amount of re-drawing will help the Republicans.
It also shows that the fears that Trump has somehow obtained secret control of the ballot machines are groundless. If he controlled the voting itself, he would not be so concerned about re-drawing the districts.
How does all this dissent help Trump?
He is a man who rules by anger.
He only knows accusation and argument.
The reason for the panic behind the GOP rush to control the maps before the mid-term elections in 2026, is confirmed by Republican strategist Karl Rove. He admits that Trump is not as popular as he should be at this point in his term - which could cost his party big in the midterm elections.
Trump is well aware of this danger, but instead of changing his help-the-rich policies, he is coming down on people who deliver bad news, like the lady behind the report about weak job numbers. Numbers are a baffling thing for Trump anyway. He has been saying that “we’re going to get the drug prices down — not 30 or 40%, which would be great, not 50 or 60. No, we’re going to get them down 1000%, 600%, 500%, 1500%.”
If he got drug prices down by 100% the drugs would be free; anything more is a consumer bonus. If you could get a $100 drug at a Trump Discount of 1500%, you would be paid $1400 to take the drug.
He has gone bankrupt six times.
He would welcome an angry, divided America. His attack on the Capitol showed his leaning towards violence.
This would in some ways be going against current US trends. Domestic extremists in the U.S. were responsible for at least 13 deaths across 11 separate incidents in 2024. This is actually a decrease compared to the 20 deaths recorded in 2023 and 28 deaths in 2022. However, this year seems to be going up again, with 15 extremist-related murders already documented in the first two months of the year.
All this is happening while Trump’s pronouncements drift further and further into the realm of insanity. While he was in Europe he went on a rant against windmills in America:
“…you look up and you see windmills all over the place. It’s a horrible thing. It’s the most expensive form of energy. It’s no good. They’re made in China, almost all of them.”
He asserted that wind turbines “rust and rot in eight years” and then can’t be “buried” because they will harm the soil. Also, they disturb the whales. He did not mention that the subsidies for oil and gas were much higher than those for renewable energy. And no one knows what he’s got against windmills in particular…maybe it’s tied to his mental state, going around and around.
Scotland is now putting up windmills on the coast opposite Trump’s golf course.
He buried an ex-wife on one of his golf courses; maybe when Trump dies we could put him in the ground facing the windmills, endlessly churning…
Is America splitting enough for a Civil War?
That is a topic we will go into in the next in-depth review of the work of an expert…coming on Monday…

Trump's hatred of wind turbines goes back, I'm sure, to when he opened his golf course at Menie Estate in Aberdeenshire in Scotland. Around the time it opened the Scottish government gave planning permission for a large offshore turbine farm that would be seen from the course. He opened a second course there last weekend.
The fact Trump deliberately wrecked a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) during construction of his course was neither here nor there.
In your count of deaths by extremist violence do you include the unfortunates that die at the hands of Trump's schultzstaffel, AKA ICE? Dakota Natzi Barbie has blood on her hands and not all of it is from her puppy. Fun fact, most serial killers start their murderous careers tormenting and killing pets. Just what the US needs right now, an ill trained and completely out of control quasi police force led by a serial killer. ICE is offering fifty thousand dollars in signing bonus to join this goon squad. Funny really, I would have thought there were enough racist assholes to be willing to torment brown people for free.
In other news inmates at Alligator Auschwitz are on a hunger strike due to the deplorable conditions. There is little food and water, mosquitoes twenty-four seven and unbearable heat all day and night. During a tour of the facility by congresspeople the inmates chanted,
"Libertad"!
It is startlingly clear that this IS a concentration camp, most of the inmates DO NOT have criminal records, and some inmates are not yet adults. One inmate is only fifteen years old.
Perhaps karma, if it's just, will put Natzi Barbie in Alligator Auschwitz when it's time to reconcile Trump's and her crimes against humanity.
