Elon's purchase and destruction of Twitter was no accident. In one fell swoop of death, millions of people lost access to what had been a, while sometimes annoyingly anal and unfair but better than Parler, Gab, FB, etc., place full of info, communities, and opportunities for indie artists to promote their work. As a writer, I spent hours of time trying to tweak my tweets to get views, followers, CUSTOMERS. Musk smashed us little guys and doesn't have any fucks to give about it.
Perfect metaphor for what will happen on a nationwide scale if he gets his psychotic fingers anywhere NEAR the levers of government.
☺️ Substack is the first replacement I've found worthy of moving to. Here's to hoping it doesn't succumb to the inevitable enshittification that has so far happened to every socmed site out there.
I was one of the lucky ones that found Substack right away. Once I saw that Dan Rather was moving here, I knew that I couldn't go wrong. 'enshittification'? = new follower. Thanks as always, Barry for bringing so many of us together.
I went to Spoutible and did nothing with it. I went to Post, and that's already shut down. Mastodon sounds cumbersome, but I may still try it. Getting used to Subby tho, and so far I like it.

I am sorry I did not mention the destruction of the creative commons in the article. I will remember for next time...thank you!

enshittification -- a new word for me! LOL Thanks.
I can't take the credit. Cory Doctorow is a must read. https://pluralistic.net/2023/01/21/potemkin-ai/#hey-guys
Brilliant! - stored for a later read, thanks.
Aaand I too will NOT give Jack one iota of my time either. Fuck him for selling Twitter and running to create a clone to start the process all over again. https://pluralistic.net/2024/11/02/ulysses-pact/#tie-yourself-to-a-federated-mast

At least if we're wrong, and Trump gets in, we'll be arrested together! LOL

I am on Mastodon, and although it was a bit rugged at first, it gets easier. I don't know Subby...hope it works for you!
Subby-SubStack.😂
Musk is the poster child for why “billionaires shouldn’t exist”
The whole family is “un-American”. It’s no wonder his eldest daughter has changed her name.
I read also about his Grandfather in The Atlantic last year:
Elon Musk’s Anti-Semitic, Apartheid-Loving Grandfather.
The billionaire has described his grandfather as a risk-taking adventurer. A closer read of history reveals something much darker.
By Joshua Benton.

Man that's a scary guy!
